Work Experience

January 2000 until December 2006 Media Business Manager, EAME, at Storage Technology/Sun Microsystems. Sales and Marketing responsibility for Media product group (data cartridges, consumer products) in 14 European countries.

Sales responsibility: Full responsibility for European goals in revenue and margin for all countries (about 50-60 million US$ annually). Member of the pricing desk for Media and full pricing authorisation for all products including special quotations.

Main contact to all suppliers to define "go to market strategies". Leadership of a remote team of 10-14 people to drive the business and all Marketing initiatives. Main contact for European sourcing to define and drive common business model.

Marketing responsibility: Product launches, Marketing Incentives together with partners (Formula 1 Incentives, Cannes Film Festival Incentive) Training of Sales people, partner and remote team members. Analysis of competition, Business Plans for Countries and Markets, Business Development for new markets (e.g. services). Assisting the implementation of the product line in other countries outside my area of direct responsibility (e.g. Australia, China and Singapore)

Main contact for all International and US initiatives to implement them in Europe. Member of an international development team to set up a new world wide strategy for media (2004)

August 2001 - February 2003, High Potential Program to develop a young generation of management within StorageTek with special training on Management and Leadership.

July 1998 - December 1999: Media Sales Specialist at Storage Technology with sales and marketing responsability for Central Region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). The position included Business Development, Product Management (pricing, training and product launches), Sales Support (market analysis and competition comparisons) as well as Consulting of the European Management related to new European Strategies and Developments.

From January to June 1998 I worked as Sales Assistant for the Marketing business sector in Germany at the start-up company Virtual Laser Systems.
